Yellow dog brewing
Yellow Dog Brewing was the first Craft Bewery to open in Port Moody, on what has come to be known as Brewers Row (Murray Street near Rocky Point Park)
In the summer of 2014, Mike and Melinda Coghill opened up Port Moody’s very first craft brewery to bring great beer and a family atmosphere to Port Moody. Mike and Melinda were both working in 'corporate jobs' and wanted to get into a business that was fun, social and wasn't consumed with the regular corporate chase of profits and bottom line.
The Yellow Dog image was in honour of their long time furry family member, Chase, who is featured prominently in the operation.
Mike, Melinda and Yellow Dog continue to support the SPCA, with many initiatives through the brewery, and their adoption of rescue dogs.
Embraced by the community, where the marketing of 'Yellow Dog' has been incredibly successful, Yellow Dog has grown into one of BC largest breweries, and has anchored the growth of the Craft Beer scene in Port Moody on 'Brewers Row'.
The master brewer, Liam Murphy, has been with Yellow Dog since the beginning and now heads our brewing team and with a focus on high quality and innovative beers. The singular focus on the quality of beer has led to many awards and a strong following for our core offerings.
Yellow Dog beers are found locally and afar at bars and restaurants, in liquor stores, and in the tasting room on Murray Street.
